There will be a training camp for talented children aged 4-8 years by the Little Dunkers Basketball department. Recruitment and training will take place at the Youth Center; 948 North H St. the program is set to begin on January 17th and will cost $31 which includes a t-shirt. Practices will be held two days a week on school campuses with games scheduled for each Saturday morning beginning January 31st at the Tulare Union gym and will cost $21. Adult basketball
There is also an adult basketball room where a winter basketball league is scheduled to begin on January 11th. There is still room for a ten-game league roster. Hurry because only the first 24 teams will be registered and the deadline is the 2nd day of January.
Fishing derby
There will be an annual fishing derby on December 6th. The registered child will be required to pay only $3 and will be given a wristband while the unregistered will pay $5. Registration takes place at the Parks and Recreation Office and will also be done the day of the event. This is for children aged 2-15 years and their parents must provide them with fishing gear as well as live bait.
